Classes
Currently, UC offers over 10 classes across various categories and skill levels.
Performance-oriented and entertainment-focused classes will include: Choreography, Jazz, Contemporary, Jazz Funk, and Intro to Dance. Foundational classes, focusing on Street Style and enabling students to freestyle independently, will include: Hip Hop, Locking, Waacking, Tutting, and Popping.
To encourage students to experience a variety of dance styles, UC sells membership cards per session with limited validity periods, instead of selling individual courses for each style. Once a membership card is purchased, students are free to choose to study one or more different styles. Each card has a specific number of sessions (1-session card, 5-session card, 10-session card, 20-session card, 40-session card). Please note that each type of membership card has a separate expiration date.

Students, please note the two types of "expiration dates" for your membership card. A card is considered "activated" when the student begins their first class. The "activation period" starts from the date of purchase. All membership cards have a common "activation period" of 6 months from the date of purchase. The "expiration date of an activated card" starts from the first class. Each card has a different expiration date; for example, a 5-session card is valid for 60 days from the first class, while a 40-session card is valid for 90 days from the first class. For example: Student A purchases a 5-session card on January 1, 2025. They must activate the card (i.e., the first class) before July 1, 2025. Assuming your first class is on June 30, 2025, the card will expire 60 days later, which is August 29, 2025.
During UC's promotional periods, you can also take advantage of buying and stocking up on these study cards at a discounted price and use them gradually over a period of 6 months from the date of purchase. After 6 months, the study cards are no longer valid.
Classes at UC Dance Space are not offered in monthly packages; instead, the lesson plans are condensed into individual sessions.
For courses that include choreography lessons, each session typically covers a complete choreography. Occasionally, a single choreography lesson may span two or three sessions, but the instructor always prioritizes teaching new sections in each session to ensure new students can keep up. Therefore, you can confidently attend individual sessions at any time of the month, or even weekly sessions if you can't arrange your schedule.
If you feel the teacher is teaching a little too fast, you can also confidently ask them to slow down.
Additionally, for foundation classes without choreography, each session will consist of practicing one or two basic movements, condensed into a single session. Therefore, joining mid-session will not negatively impact the overall skill level of the class. Each session will have both new and returning students, and the instructors will adjust the class schedule to provide individual attention to all students.
Depending on the student's ability and suitability for the subject, a student who has never danced before will typically begin to develop body awareness, learn how to coordinate body parts, and improve their ability to listen to music after about 8 lessons. To ensure they can participate in higher-level classes, it is recommended to attend Level 0 and Level 1 classes for about 2-3 months.
Participating in other foundational courses will give you a solid base to create a more beautiful and higher-quality video. During this process, you can always experiment with higher-level courses to see if your skill level has reached your desired standard.

The "sexy dance" you often hear about is actually Jazz Funk. Jazz Funk is a genre that incorporates movements rooted in Jazz and Hip-Hop, often characterized by its seductive, sexy, captivating, assertive, feminist, and sharp style. The Jazz Funk class at UC is taught by Bonnie from the dance group The Next Door.
In addition, UC currently offers a Choreography – Girlstyle class. This class focuses on developing body movements in a sexy and alluring style.
Additionally, you can also try Queen's Waacking class, which features many stylish and sexy poses.

Currently, UC doesn't offer K-Pop cover or TikTok trend classes. However, if you enjoy these genres, you can definitely try our Choreography class. Essentially, K-Pop cover and TikTok trend classes involve choreographing similar routines to the Choreography class at UC Dance Space. UC's Choreography instructors sometimes use K-Pop or similar US-UK trend music to choreograph and teach. Give the Choreography classes at UC a try!
Each class at UC lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes, including warm-up and stretching, some foundation or technique exercises, and combination exercises (for styles with choreography). At the end of the class, the teacher may divide students into small groups to record their performances. These dance clips will be uploaded to a private Google Drive for students to review.
The class schedule at UC Dance Space doesn't change monthly, so the class (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15fiNZVyhB/)schedule is fixed.
UC will update class status daily on UC's Facebook/Instagram stories. Occasionally, there may be announcements of unexpected class cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances. UC will notify students via Instagram/Facebook stories, the class's Facebook group, and the student community chat group. Due to the nature of the classes being open to students at any time and not structured into courses, UC cannot notify each student individually; instead, announcements will be made collectively through the channels listed above.
